I for one preferred Pikes work over Mulligans in this. I have also just finished 'Brothers' and preferred Mulligans work in that. Strange how I haven't warmed to this perf. I am usually all over the ingenue.
Oh, Michael. Why do we have to choose? If I will go there, I think Carey plays her as real and not as the ingenue we must all love. I mean, Jenny's not that lovely, is she?And to be honest, I can understand Helen's confusion. I've used that "reading English" line on people and many of them don't get it either.
Love it! I definitely thought Rosamund Pike was one of the two best things about this movie -- the other being Cara Seymour as Jenny's mother, who was criminally (and completely ludicrously) snubbed from the Ensemble Cast nod at the SAGs...
Pike > Mulligan. W/o question.WHERE IS HER AWARDS CREAMING?!
