Oliver Stone has been failing to set screens on fire since the early 90s. Was JFK truly his last great movie?
The wishful thinking that Stone is set to deliver something as vibrant as his classic work is what drives me to put all my hopes on Savages. The poster for this movie is a multicolored joy to watch as it presents us with all the A-star cast looking like they just left a Tarantino audition. The use of such vibrant colors makes this look like a dun version of Babel and I'd board that train anytime.
Best of all is the way in which all the actors were captures, del Toro looking like a demon out of hell, Hayek making the most of her mouth-barely-open pose, Travolta exuding his Scientology madness and Lively looking like the slutty ingenue. Without even knowing what the movie is about this one-sheet hooks you and isn't that what posters are supposed to do?

Spanish Lessons.

 The ladies at the Goyas always have amazing styles (it might be the second best Academy red carpet after the Oscars and before the BAFTAs) what better example than Elena Anaya looking like a goddess in Lanvin. She followed Emma Stone's Golden Globes lead but brought it down to basics. Where Stone was a Harley Aphrodite, Elena is a glorious Athena!

Goya Toledo is perfection in this simple Elie Saab, yes there is such a thing as a simple Elie Saab. The skin tone and sparkles give her a sexy quality that's only highlighted by her simple hair and makeup.

Salma Hayek knows how to work 'em and even if her "look at my boobs" looks get a bit exhausting after a while, you can't deny sister looks good. This burgundy Gucci Premiere is great, paying homage to Spain's ruffles while remaining consistent with the Gucci look.

Marta Etura might not be particularly stunning in this Gucci gown, but I wanted to include her because I was so surprised to realize she's the Vice-president of the Spanish Film Academy! This is the equivalent of having I don't know, Julianne Moore being second in command at AMPAS and I mean that as a great thing of course!

Fashion-al Board of Review.

The stars came out once again for the National Board of Review Gala and as I saw the shallow coverage in E! News I found my attention curiously drawn to someone I can barely stand, no, make that someone who is perhaps one of the only people who would make not see a movie if she is featured.
It's none other than Ms. Salma Hayek whose movies I can't stand, whose Oscar nomination still pisses me off and whose disdain for the press in her country make me wanna slap her, but something (perhaps "30 Rock" goodwill?) made me see her twice and for once actually appreciate what she was wearing.
I know she's had more famous outfits, but the simplicity and color of this one are the first time I've ever caught myself going "she does look nice". I guess her marriage is doing some much needed good for her image in my eyes. That caramel degradé is just mouth watering.

Now can someone please explain this to me:

Anne herself called this Chanel "a risk", but what the hell is it with stars wearing grass? (see Madonna in Louis Vuitton) We get that they love the planet and are worried and want the rest of us mortals to be "green" and what not, but there are much more efficient, and better looking, ways of reminding us about going natural (streaking doesn't count).
Anne went the extra mile by wearing fallen leaves, burnt grass and wrapped it all with a subtle dominatrix belt. Is she going to spank me if I don't recycle?
