Wee!

You all know how much I disliked The King's Speech but even there I was mystified by the story of Wallis Simpson (played in the movie by the superb Eve Best) which I think offers much more complex material than a stutterer's struggles.
I was thrilled today to finally see official pictures of Madonna's W.E. which will tackle her story in a much more direct way. I always knew Madge had it in her, how can she not when she's worked with some of the greatest directors of all time? (David Fincher anyone...)

How excited are you about this project?

I would have loved "The King's Speech" even if it had earned zero Oscar nominations. In what Fincher masterpiece did Madonna appear?

I'm not sure how to feel about this yet. I've never really jumped on the Abbie Cornish bandwagon, and Madonna's track record in film isn't exactly superb. But Andrea Riseborough's stylish look appeases me a bit. I want it to be good, for sure.

Andrea Riseborough was so weird in BRIGHTON ROCK - the performance is alternately brilliant and awful but Abbie Cornish and MADONNA!!!!!!!!!!!! Hee, I'm so there.

@Tom: the masterpiece of his which she appeared in was the video for "Vogue".

Tom: yes, Andrew's right.
Fincher also directed "Express Yourself" and "Oh Father", perhaps Madge's best videos and some of the most astounding media works of the last thirty years.

Luke: I recommend more viewings of "Bright Star" :P

Andrew: Andrea is magnificent! Take a look at her other work!

It's not doing it for me. Maybe I'm just too British and sniffy about the fella who chose love over duty.

Very poor form.
