I need to see that, don't I?

You probably do! I enjoyed it in ways I wasn't expecting.
Although I've a problematic relationship with 80's films...

I really need to see more from the 80s - especially two of my top three films ever are from that decade (including my avatar, lol).

And Reds REALLY seems completely up my alley, it's insane.

You'll probably like it a lot!
The 80's are so underrated film wise, they're like the ugly stepsister of the 70's even if they featured the best work from people like Spielberg, Gilliam, the last Fellini :(,James L. Brook's greatest screenplays, William Hurt's triad of exquisite performances and of course your beloved Bergman's glorious epic.

...oh plus the last David Lean, the golden days of Merchant Ivory and the rise of the Meryl!

And it's the decade of highest and arguably greatest output from Hayao Miyazaki.

Mmhmm.
