I just find his face offensive (shrugs, don’t ask)…and Luke Adaptation does little to thrill me. I don’t like Streep there, who’s obviously trying hard, don’t like Cage and don’t care for Chris Cooper. So, no. Oddly enough though…I liked Cage in Face/Off. I wonder what that reveals about me…

(PS. on Johnson, his American accent is excellent. It's weird watching him AND Carey turn in good accents and looking just lovely together in The Greatest)Andrew K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/01104647944747041277noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1760596761162985469.post-81471158209428750372010-06-02T19:34:25.557-06:002010-06-02T19:34:25.557-06:00Simon: you have to see his great turn as John Lenn...Simon: you have to see his great turn as John Lennon!
Still impressive American accent though.Notas Sobre Creación Cultural e Imaginarios Socialeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01423835555933819338noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1760596761162985469.post-81710968470384871422010-06-02T18:31:23.230-06:002010-06-02T18:31:23.230-06:00Perfectly alright. I admired the energy of it a lot but it's quite confused, in a way like a teenager.
Cage is great in "Bad Lieutenant" and "Matchstick Men" too :PNotas Sobre Creación Cultural e Imaginarios Socialeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01423835555933819338noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1760596761162985469.post-62822065360828380452010-06-02T14:33:54.208-06:002010-06-02T14:33:54.208-06:00I'm glad you're willing to concede that it...I'm glad you're willing to concede that it was at least entertaining, which I completely agree with. I was definitely entertained. I can see your problems with it, though. It does have a serious case of identity confusion in terms of genres. And Andrew, I'm with ya! NIcolas Cage is sort of a waste in everything outside of Adaptation. :)Lukehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13607763027974538119noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1760596761162985469.post-15125973093190321362010-06-02T11:48:00.542-06:002010-06-02T11:48:00.542-06:00Andrew: indeed and I find him so charismatic.

If you thought it was somewhat blurred, then others might have and it's probably why some critics were so offended by the movie.Castorhttp://www.anomalousmaterial.com/moviesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1760596761162985469.post-55667337933810187032010-06-02T06:52:58.272-06:002010-06-02T06:52:58.272-06:00Aaron Johnson really is having a big year.
